Totem Necklace

Dabanga is a self-taught jewelry designer who loves to work with metals, especially copper, pearls, crystal, turquoise, and coral. She believes in using eco-friendly material, which is reflected in the recycled materials she incorporates into her designs. Her metals are patinated to give an antique look.

Dabanga is happy that African designers are receiving more attention. "We have inspired the world for decades, and it is now time to tap into the riches we have made."

Before working as a jewelry designer, Dabanga worked professionally as a microbiologist in Mozambique.

Dabanga's favorite place to visit is Love Bilene, a beach resort in Maputo Province, Mozambique. Besides designing, Dabanga enjoys reading and learning about social media. (more)
